The tunnel is needed to accommodate the growing need for effective transportation to and from the airport. Additionally, the southwest portion of the Calgary ring road is crucial, but progress is too slow for Calgarians. These planning failures make it clear that I cannot support this budget.

The government continues to follow the flawed P3 (public-private partnership) model to fund capital projects, putting Alberta further into debt.

In recent days, condominium owners have come forward with grave concerns about poor construction that’s costing them tens of thousands of dollars in repair bills. Service Alberta is offering no help.

And finally, Albertans who have signed contracts with certain utility companies have found themselves locked in to high prices, far above and beyond current market rates. There is no recourse for these individuals, and Service Alberta again offers no assistance. The Utilities Consumer Advocate should be pushing for consumer protection on this front.
